Our Chosen Good Cause
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. Their care and support is tailored for the needs of all family members and delivered where the families wish – in their own home, at hospital, in the community or at one of three hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Quidenham.
They deliver a wide range of services through short-break care, emotional & psychological support, symptom management, care at end of life, bereavement support and many activities & therapies. For both families accessing care, and those who have been bereaved, EACH is a lifeline at an unimaginably difficult time.
‘The Nook’ Appeal
Due to the high demands on their specialist services in Norfolk, they have launched a fundraising appeal to deliver even better children’s hospice care services. This includes a new purpose-built hospice, called The Nook, to provide even better children’s hospice care services. This facility will enable them to provide hydrotherapy, more family accommodation, private clinical treatment rooms, more space and storage facilities, and will be delivered all on ground level. The Poringland location will be more accessible to the families of Norfolk and provides better transport links and proximity to the N&N Hospital.
They care for 114 children, provide support to 204 families across Norfolk, and rely on voluntary donations for the majority of their income, which is why community support is so important to them.
