Artefact of the Month
Silver annular ring brooch with intact silver pin. The brooch frame is comprised of two prone animals whose open mouths meet at the junction with the pin. The animals are very detailed with scales and folded feet evident. Possibly late Anglo Saxon/Scandinavian crossover or early Medieval.
Late Anglo Saxon ‘cogwheel brooch’ . Circular with an expanded cross within the circular frame. Rectangular tooth decoration around the circumference of the frame. 8th – 10th Century
Gold post ring. Flat section hoop and the words ‘Feare God’ inscribed on the inside of the band. Probably 17th Century.
Coin of the Month
William I (1066 – 1087) cut half silver penny. Possibly two Stars or Sword type. Legend not decipherable.
Silver penny of Henry II (1154 – 1189). Short cross type (1180 – 89). Class 1. Moneyer Raul on Nor (thampton).

Complete circular base of Roman greyware pot, with small areas of the side walls evident.
